Microsoft has stopped producing Xbox One consoles

by time news

A few days ago it was announced that Sony has decided to continue producing its old PlayStation 4 console, in response to the ongoing shortage of the new PlayStation 5 console. Microsoft is also having a hard time keeping up with the demand for its Xbox Series X console [ביקורת]However, unlike its competitor in Japan, it has now officially announced that it has stopped producing all consoles from the Xbox One series.

The Xbox One series included three different console models and in fact two of them, the One X and the digital edition of the One S, went off the production line even before the launch of the current generation. The standard Xbox One S model (which includes a CD drive) has been in production for some time, but now Microsoft is announcing that not all models are produced anymore. Once all the stores have sold their inventory, they will no longer be available (at least not as a new product in regular imports).

“In order to focus on the production of the Xbox Series X and Series S consoles, we have stopped production for all Xbox One consoles,” the company said in a statement.

It should be noted, however, that Microsoft enjoys a certain advantage due to the unique strategy it has chosen in the current generation. While the Series X is the most advanced and expensive flagship console – and the one that is very difficult to obtain in the United States and most European countries – Microsoft has also launched the smaller, cheaper and easier-to-manufacture Series S. The compact console enjoys fairly stable inventory in most of the countries in which it markets, and provides an experience close to that of its more expensive sister, albeit without support for 4K gaming resolution.
