The American technology corporation Microsoft held a presentation of the new operating system Windows 11. The presentation of the previous version of Windows 10 took place six years ago – in 2015.
The new OS is presented with a focus on simplifying the interface, the Windows Store, and improving productivity and multitasking, the presentation emphasized. Windows 11 has a new Start button and a redesigned Start button – they are now centered on the screen.
Also, Microsoft removed from the start menu “live tiles”, which appeared in Windows 8. “Windows” in Windows 11 have become more rounded, and interface elements – translucent and simple. As The Verge notes, much of the centered look and feel was “clearly influenced” by Apple’s macOS. Windows 11 “windows” also have the rounded corners that iOS does.
Snap Layouts appeared in the new OS version – ready-made modes for arranging windows for different cases. For example, when you need to simultaneously run two, three or more programs on one screen, the system will itself remember their location and offer to arrange them in the same order.
Microsoft has paid particular attention to performance. The system takes up 40% less space and works more efficiently than before, thanks to improvements in the work with background tasks. The upgrade to the new OS will be free for Windows 10 owners.
