The American corporation Microsoft during an online presentation announced its new operating system – Windows 11. All Windows 10 users will be able to upgrade to the new version for free. The first preview build will be released early next week for members of the Windows Insider program.
A new user interface will appear. The windows now have rounded corners, the system icons have been redesigned, and the overall design is much softer. A new selection of desktop wallpapers will be available, and you can also make quick desktop settings for different situations: work, leisure, games.
The new OS will introduce an updated Start menu. Now, by default, it will be in the middle and get rid of the tiled design. If you want, you can move it to the lower left corner of the screen. The menu displays frequently used programs, as well as recommended actions and recently opened files.
When you click “maximize window”, you will be able to group several tabs on one screen in the proposed way. The tool will be integrated into all “windowed” applications. It will be possible to create one group and place it on the taskbar. The search tool will no longer take up a lot of space, and all icons will now be grouped together and have the same size.
A new Microsoft Store was introduced, which now has Android apps. The system itself now integrates the Microsoft Teams corporate platform and the Xbox gaming platform. Sidebar widgets appear. It will contain a news feed and other content according to the user’s interests. Updates will now be installed in the background and their size will be reduced by 40%.
