Microsoft recently announced the addition of a new feature to the Windows Insider program, allowing Windows 11 computer users to use their Android phones or tablets as video cameras. This new feature requires Android 9.0 or higher system version, and the device must also have the Link to Windows program installed, version 1.24012 or higher.

Support Android 9.0 or above

In addition, users need to ensure that they have joined the Windows Insider program, click “Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Mobile Devices” on their computer, then select “Manage Devices” and allow the computer to access the Android phone. After completing the settings, the user’s Android phone or tablet will display a prompt message indicating a successful connection, and can then be used as a video lens during video conferencing on the computer.

Join the Insider program

Microsoft also said that users can switch between the front and rear lenses of Android devices. In other words, the high-quality lenses of Android phones can be perfectly used to replace the ordinary video lenses on the market. In addition, users can also add effects directly on the computer, access recent photos in the album, etc. Microsoft said that this new Insider feature is being provided to users one after another.
