The Surface Studio 2+ is Microsoft’s all-in-one PC for professional users. Now the company is said to have discontinued its expensive computer.
Microsoft has stopped production of its Windows computer Surface Studio 2+. This is what the magazine “Windows Central” reports. Accordingly, inventories have declined sharply in the last few weeks and the group has no interest in replenishing them. Microsoft has confirmed corresponding reports, it is indeed said.
“Customers can continue to purchase Surface Studio 2+ from retailers and partners wiht inventory,” a Microsoft spokesperson is quoted as saying. “In areas where inventory is depleted, Surface Studio 2+ will no longer be available for new purchases.”
It is not known whether there will be a successor to the device, which costs around 5,500 euros. “Windows Central” claims to have learned from unspecified sources that Microsoft is not interested in continuing the PC series.
As the IT magazine “Golem” reports, Microsoft has revived its Surface Studio series with the Model 2+ after years. It cannot therefore be ruled out that the company will not stop the series, but rather just want to pause it.
The Surface Studio 2+ is a so-called all-in-one PC in which the computer and the display are in one device. The PC has a 28-inch touchscreen that can be folded down using a hinge on the back so that the screen can be used as a drawing board. The computer is therefore aimed primarily at creative users.
Microsoft sells numerous devices under the Surface brand that are developed and manufactured by the company. The Surface series includes notebooks, tablets and 2-in-1 devices that combine a laptop and a tablet.
