Microsoft is testing new designs for the Windows 11 taskbar

by time news

The latest beta version of Windows 11 now available for download includes a number of innovations that Microsoft defines as “experiments” that will not necessarily reach all users. One such is the return of the search to the taskbar, not in the form of an icon that must be clicked to perform a search, but a field that can be filled in and used immediately. Microsoft offers two different versions of it that differ from each other in size, and of course there is also the option to leave the situation intact with a figurine only.

Another innovation is the ability to display the amount of alerts associated with various widgets that appear in the taskbar. If you click on the alert, the Windows 11 widgets screen will open, and the most relevant update that caused that alert will immediately appear at the top.

Another innovation that experimenters can be impressed by is an update of the camera application in Windows 11. Again, this is software that has not yet been adapted in design to the new look of Windows. Starting with this version, it integrates more harmoniously with the interface, and also includes the option to scan QR code for quick access to websites.

Microsoft has also updated the Media Player with a new feature that may sound almost nostalgic: the ability to copy (RIP) songs from CDs to digital files on your computer. Microsoft supports many formats, including AAC and WMA files, as well as lossless compression using FLAC and ALAC files.
