It looks like Microsoft will be adding a new feature to see how long games take to finish in PC Game Pass, which will mean gamers will be able to see the hours they have to set aside to see everything the game has to offer.
With varying lengths of time to finish each game, Microsoft has teamed up with HowLongToBeat to provide the most accurate predictions. In fact, there are four different times for each game, which gives a prediction of the time spent to finish the main story, the story and the extras, all that the game offers and average for all play styles.
Explanation of the time periods presented:
- Main Story: Complete only the basic tasks required until the moment the game ends.
- Main Story + Extras: Base Quests and All Quests/Achievements/Side Orders.
- Completionist: When you complete the game 100%.
- All Styles: A mixture of all previous patterns to give a given average.
PC Game Pass also includes a “View Details” link to view details and upload your time information to help make predictions more accurate. There are also links to community player reviews, game notes, and other important data for each game on the Service.
In addition to introducing game-time prediction, Microsoft has released an update to the Xbox app on PC that increases its download speed by 15%. Users will notice more fluidity in the new version, search results appear 20% faster, download and install failures for games are reduced “by nearly half”, and bug-free sessions have a rating of 99.9%.
