Microsoft’s new Xbox Series game console reveals that the processor has changed | XFastest News

Unconsciously, game consoles including SONY PS5 and Microsoft Xbox Series X/S have been on the market for some time. It’s just that maybe because the PS4 sales are so good and the new machine is out of stock worldwide, the presence of semiconductor chips is less.

A few days ago, Brad Sams, vice president and general manager of Stardock Software, revealed on the show that Microsoft is developing a smaller and more energy-efficient processor for the Xbox. According to external analysis, the revised version of the Xbox Series X/S will be announced at the Microsoft event in June as soon as possible.

In fact, a retailer recently leaked a white Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2, and it looks like the Xbox division is indeed preparing some new hardware.

Back to the processor itself, both XSX and XSS are currently equipped with AMD semi-custom processors with Zen 2 CPU+RDNA 2 GPU using 7nm process, with a maximum of 8 cores at 3.8GHz and a floating-point computing performance of up to 12.2T.

Since it is to be smaller and more energy efficient, the easiest way is to improve the design process, such as updating from 7nm to 6nm or 5nm. In addition, if Microsoft is sincere or wants to meet the SONY PS5, it can also consider upgrading the CPU architecture to Zen 3.

Let’s wait and see how it turns out!
