Microsoft revealed earlier that it has begun preparations for the next generation of Xbox game consoles. Although there is currently no launch timetable and console specifications, Xbox has recently announced that it will establish a “game preservation team” to allow future next-generation Xbox consoles to be installed. According to foreign media “Windows Central”, Xbox President Sarah Bond recently stated within the company that in addition to preparing for the next generation of game consoles, a new dedicated team has also been established to ensure that current games can run on future hardware.
Unlike SONY and Nintendo, Microsoft Xbox game consoles have always provided backward compatibility, allowing players to continue playing past games after switching to another machine without having to save the previous generation game console.
