Intermediate-sized companies (ETI) are representative of the economic situation in France. For them too, 2023 should be less favorable than 2022, according to the 13e annual business survey carried out by Bpifrance Le Lab among these companies which employ between 250 and 5,000 people.

While order books are shrinking, particularly in industry and the construction sector, they anticipate a slowdown in their activity. The balance of opinion on business prospects has deteriorated by 7 points over one year, to +36, thus returning to its pre-health crisis average. “ETIs are in phase with the stagnation of growth in France, but they are resisting”, summarizes Philippe Mutricy, director of studies at Bpifrance.
