Built as part of the evacuation of the electricity production of the future Midelt Solar Power Plant, this new station is located approximately 25 km from the Rural Commune of Zaida, in the Province of Midelt, and located approximately 1.5 km from the site of the future Midelt solar power plant, ONEE indicated in a press release on Monday.

With a total investment of 65 million dirhams, this strategic work was connected to the national electricity grid by the connection of the 225 kV Khénifra-Mibladen line over approximately 27 km, the press release states.

The same source reports that the connection of this station to the national electricity network will be reinforced in September 2023 by the commissioning of two new Very High Voltage lines which will connect this station to the El Ouali station in the Fez region, for an investment of 476 million dirhams.

Other works to develop and strengthen the ONEE high-voltage network in this region are being carried out by the Office in order to meet the growing demand for electrical energy and contribute to improving the quality of service offered to customers.

In order to ensure the integration of renewable energies into the national electricity grid under the best conditions, ONEE is continuing its pace of development and strengthening of the electricity transmission network at the national level in order to transport electricity production to consumption centers.

With the acceleration of the implementation of major structuring and ambitious projects in the electricity sector in Morocco, ONEE is continuing the implementation, with certain steps, of the national energy strategy and the support of the growing socio-economic development of the various Provinces of the Kingdom through, in particular, the strengthening of the means of production and the transport and distribution networks, further guaranteeing the supply of electricity in our country in the best conditions of security and costs and thus enhancing the potential in renewables enjoyed by many regions of Morocco.
