Miele has opened a lounge in the Allianz Arena

by time news

HKind fans stand in the stadium. Others watch the game from high up in a lounge. Such guests sit behind a glass front with a glass of wine or champagne at the table in order to have something to eat in between during the break – not a bratwurst, but an entire menu. If the game is too boring for them, they can indulge in culinary moves during halftimes. In the best case scenario, the guests of a lounge put their napkins to one side just in time for kick-off so that they can sit down in front of the glass front and watch the game like all the other spectators on the pitch.

So the guests of a lounge do not necessarily have to be very interested in football. Companies primarily invite their customers there, some of them are fans too. Miele is now joining the companies that have rented a lounge in the Allianz Arena on a permanent basis. 106 such rooms are lined up in the oval of the upper tier of the stadium. For Miele, this lounge in the arena is an unprecedented showcase project. The fact that the company from Gütersloh chose the FC Bayern Munich stadium has little to do with a secret passion of the board members for the club. Rather, it is about using the club’s reputation through the partnership. In this country, but also in China. There is an attractive market waiting for Miele that the company has not yet been able to use.

Miele had its lounge set up by the designer Dave Cassels from Hong Kong. It is tastefully and elegantly designed – like probably most of the lounges in the stadiums. Tables, chairs, crockery, cutlery and glasses create an environment that is familiar from expensive restaurants. But the visit to the lounge is interesting and special for friends of the culinary arts and cooking, who not only like to consume in the kitchen, but also to produce. One would like to jump aside and join in with Kevin von Holt, who is preparing a menu for the opening event with an assistant. The chef from Hamburg uses the lounge for his cooking school “Cooking Arena” when the ball is resting in the Allianz Arena.

High-tech for the kitchen island: Miele has brought in some in-house technology for the lounge.

The new Miele lounge

A quarter of the room consists of a kitchen island. This square has a narrow entrance through which you walk like an arena. In the front, right and left, huge quartzite worktops are waiting for food to be celebrated on them. Standing in the middle, the cook is only one step away from them. Here he can let off steam: snip and cut, put pans down and serve plates. In front of him is the heart of the command center. A full-surface induction hob that detects up to four pots or pans and remembers when they are moved to adjust the control element. On the right on the stainless steel plate of the teppan yaki pan-fried food is being prepared. The wok bowl is to the left of the hob. If, however, the space for pots and pans runs out, there is a ninety centimeter wide induction hob on the right-hand side of the cooking island.
