“According to our data, all those who escaped have now been arrested,” VSAT representative Lina Laurinaitytė told Elta on Friday.
During the arrests, two officers of the Chief Police Commissariat of Utena County were lightly injured, the Police Department reported.
Thursday morning, 8 o’clock 56 min., the Utena County Chief Police Commissariat received a notification from the State Border Guard Service (VSAT) officers that the VW Transporter, Opel Vivaro and the Audi A6 accompanying them should be detained.
It is reported that these cars may be carrying illegal migrants from Latvia.
On the same day, a VW Transporter car carrying 23 illegal migrants was stopped in Utena district, Daugailii town.
10 were arrested immediately, the other 13 left the scene.
Around 3 p.m. 30 minutes 10 illegal migrants were arrested in the town of Daugailiu after escaping. Later, the foreigners who left were also detained.
Also, in the Utena district, in the village of Vaikutėnai, an Opel Vivaro car, in which 20 illegal migrants were driving, was detained.
In Utena, on J. Basanavičiaus street, an Audi A6 car driven by a man born in 1998 and accompanied by men born in 1996 and 1999 was detained.
Arrested illegal migrants and vehicles were handed over to VSAT officers.
