Rumors spread that the northern workers who had come to work in Tamil Nadu were being attacked. Also, videos of North State workers being assaulted are going viral on social media. The issue echoed in the Bihar state assembly yesterday. After that, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that he would send a delegation of all parties to Tamil Nadu to personally examine the issue in response to the opposition parties’ request.
Meanwhile, the Bihar government has ordered the formation of a 4-member committee headed by Bihar State Rural Development Department Secretary Balamurugan to personally investigate the complaint of assaulting northern state workers in Tamil Nadu. The team consisted of Intelligence Division IG Kannan, Labor Welfare Special Secretary Srialok and an IPS officer.
In this, Balamurugan and Kannan are from Tamil Nadu. The team will hold consultations with the Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary and DGP. It has also been informed that besides talking to Bihar state workers and local people, they will solve the problems of Bihar workers by talking to the local authorities.
In this case, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has sent the team following the rumor that Bihar state workers are being attacked. Accordingly, the Bihar Government team arrived in Chennai this evening. Subsequently, the team of the Bihar government met the Commissioner of Labor Welfare in Chennai and engaged in consultation.
Similarly, the delegation of all parties from Bihar state is going to visit Tamil Nadu. It is noted that earlier Bihar opposition parties had complained that Bihar workers were being attacked in Tamil Nadu.
