The Secretariat for Migrants and International Liaison (SMEI) confirmed that the victims of the alleged attack of the National guard against migrants in Sinalo, Guanajuatofor the moment they are protected and receiving attention from the Friends of the Train Association, in Irapuato.
He explained that they were offered assistance and the accompaniment of the Government of the state and confirmed that “it is a group of migrants made up of approximately 83 people from Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, Peru y Venezuela“We offered and made available to them medical care through the State Public Health Secretariat, psychological care through the DIF System,” said the head of SMEI, Susana Guerra Vallejo.
The migrants requested support to recover their documents and personal belongings that were seized during the encounter with the federal authorities.
He added that the Secretariat has an inter-institutional network to offer comprehensive assistance to those who pass through the state, to guarantee them the best conditions for a safe stay.
