Discover the first Made in Haiti trade fair: MIH Expo 2024, this Saturday in El Rancho.
The “MIH Expo” team held a press conference this Wednesday, July 10, 2024 to announce the launch of the first edition of this activity, the Made in Haiti fair. This event will take place on Saturday, July 13, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., at the new convention center of the El Rancho Hotel. It aims to highlight Haitian know-how.
This first edition offers an exceptional showcase to approximately sixty Haitian exhibitors, covering various sectors such as textiles, high technology, condiments, agro-industry, gastronomy, financial services, renewable energy, automotive, and the beverage and spirits industry. Emmanuel Gregory Morissette, general coordinator of MIH Expo, said that this event is a unique opportunity for local companies to showcase their products and innovations.
“During the day, there will be demonstrations, sales and a gastronomic area for the public. Participation in the event costs $20, and tickets are available at El Rancho, Pâtisserie Marie Belliard, Belmart, among others,” said Emmanuel Gregory Morissette.
Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism James Monazard commended the organizers for taking this initiative despite the current security crisis in Haiti. He stressed that this event is a valuable opportunity for businesses to showcase their expertise.
The Minister also recalled that the creation of massive jobs is a priority for the government of Garry Conille and renewed his ministry’s commitment to support this initiative. He invited the public to actively participate in this event, hoping that it will be beneficial for all participating companies.
It is worth noting that participants will have the chance to win a 6-kilowatt generator in a draw that will be held on the same day. In addition, Sunrise Airways will offer two plane tickets for a Port-au-Prince/Miami flight.
The event is supported by Kubota, Dasani, Coca-Cola, Ticket Magazine, RTVC, El Rancho, June 7and Comme Il Faut among others.
