BOLZANO. The Foxes have officially announced that they have reached an agreement to renew the striker’s contract Mike Halmo for the 2024/25 season. For the 33-year-old Canadian, this will be his sixth season in red and white, his fifth consecutive.

Having become a true institution in Bolzano, Halmo has also acquired the “A” for assistant for two years thanks to his leadership qualities that have made him one of the most important senators in the locker room. With 295 games playedis currently the foreign player with the most appearances for the Foxes in the last 25 years, numbers that already consign him to history: just think that in front of him, in terms of “imports”, there is only a legend of the caliber of Sergei Vostrikov (around 400 appearances) and on his numbers stands another red and white legend, Igor Maslennikov (around 300 appearances, for the two Russians it is complicated to give a precise number due to some missing historical data). In the season just gone, Halmo closed the regular season with 32 points (15+17), resulting in the fifth top scorer and the third for goals scored. In the playoffs he had to deal with some physical problems that forced him to miss three games, but he still managed to collect another 4 points in 9 appearances (1+3).

“I know what this team is capable of,” Halmo said. “Even though some players have changed, I can say that in these years in Bolzano we have built a mentality of those who know what it takes to win. And I personally want to win again with this jersey. It will be a tough season with many competitive teams, but this will make it even more exciting: we know we can count on an unparalleled fan base and this can make the difference.”
