On the show he met his ex-affair Kim Virginia Hartung: The two got closer on “Are you the one – Reality Stars in Love”. But in the Australian bush it wasn’t sparks that flew between the TV stars, but sparks.
As the season progressed, Mike Heiter got involved with Leyla Lahouar. The former “The Bachelor” candidate was very interested in the 31-year-old and wanted more physical proximity – too much for Mike. He quickly ended the jungle romance. On Sunday evening, Mike Heiter did not receive enough calls from RTL viewers and he flew out of the jungle camp shortly before the finale. In the t-online conversation, he still looks back positively on the TV adventure, not least because of the good relationship with his colleagues. He definitely wants to see a candidate again. “I’ll put it this way: Leyla and I stay in touch as two people who like each other. And then we’ll see whether it ends in the getting-to-know-you phase or not,” says Heiter.
A statement that may surprise his ex-lover Kim Virginia Hartung. She saw no potential in the jungle flirt. She repeatedly emphasized: Leyla Lahouar was not Mike Heiter’s type at all. However, the 31-year-old sees it differently: “Visually, I don’t have a type. What’s important to me is how the person appears to me. Leyla is a pretty woman and her character is also great. So she would be my type.”
Then why did he reject the 27-year-old? “I did feel under pressure at times,” explains Mike Heiter. Fabio Knez in particular tried to promote the jungle dalliance with motivating words. So much so that Mike no longer felt comfortable in the situation. “I was honest with myself and also honest with Leyla. I always think honesty lasts the longest – and I stayed true to myself instead of forcing something morbid,” he reports.
Mike Heiter would have liked to show a different side of himself
While Mike Heiter is keeping his future with Leyla Lahouar open, another thing is finally over for him. “I don’t want any contact with Kim for the time being. The thing is definitely over. Physically nothing will work anymore,” he also rules out a possible affair.
Mike Heiter thinks it’s a shame that his love triangle in the jungle camp took up so much airtime. He would have liked to show another side of himself. “Then maybe I would have been the funny guy in the camp,” said the “Love Island” star. Nevertheless, he was satisfied with his performance at the campfire: “I was the way I am. I dealt with the situation the way I would have in real life. That’s why I stayed true to myself – and then you can You can’t really do anything wrong.”
