In a match valid for the 24th round of the Italian Championship, Milan received and defeated Napoli 1-0, this Sunday (11). The goal was scored by Theo Hernández, in the first half. With the result, the Red and Blacks are in third place, with 52 points, one behind Juventus and eight behind Inter Milan. These two, however, have only 23 games. Napoli, in turn, appears in ninth, with just 35.

The match started with Napoli carrying more danger. At 10, Kvaratskhelia invaded the area and crossed to Giovanni Simeone. Even though he caught the ball poorly, the Argentine finished grazing the right post.

At 25, finally, the net was scored, but on Milan’s side. After all, Rafael Leão gave a great cross to Theo Hernandez, who shot into the goalkeeper’s left corner. After the assist, the Portuguese striker appeared again, this time with a beautiful shot into the corner. However, Pierluigi Collini made a spectacular save. Still in the first half, Napoli responded with a free kick without much danger.

In the complementary stage, Rafael Leão continued to be the protagonist of the match, with good passes and finishes. Napoli managed to respond at times, but not with the same intensity. The Neapolitans had a good finish with Politano from outside the area and saw Lindstrom hit a bomb against the post. In stoppage time, VAR was called to check Milan’s penalty, but the referee did not signal it. Thus, the match ended 1-0.

Milan returns to the field next Thursday (15), when they host Rennes (FRA) in the second phase of the Europa League. In the Italian Championship, Rubro-Negro visits Monza on Sunday (18). Napoli, in turn, hosts Genoa on Saturday (17) and Barcelona on the 21st, but for the round of 16 of the Champions League.
