Four goals inside the first 29 minutes gave AC Milan an emphatic 4-0 home win over Venice in the fourth round of the Italian football championship.

The team, who had a disappointing start to the season with two draws and a loss, put in an impressive performance this time around to secure their first win of the campaign.

Theo Hernandez gave Milan the lead just two minutes into the game with a low-angle shot that deflected off the legs of Venezia goalkeeper Jesse Joronen and into the net.

The hosts doubled their lead 14 minutes later after Yussuf Fofana was on target.

Two penalties, first from Christian Pulisic in the 25th minute and then from Tammy Abraham four minutes later, completely decided the game for Milan against the newcomers to the elite.

Venezia came close to pulling one back late in the game, but it was overturned by the referee after a VAR review for a foul on Ruben Loftus-Cheek by Hans Nicolosi Cavilia, which led to a second yellow card and his sending off.
