‘Rossoneri’ thrashed the visit from Venice, in a match where Rafael Leão made an assist

Four games later, Milan, managed by Paulo Fonseca, finally managed to secure their first victory in this edition of Serie A. And it was, as they say, without any bones. The rossoneri received and thrashed the newly promoted Venice, by 4-0, in a match counting for round 4.

Rafael Leão was a starter for the home team and ended up justifying the vote of confidence. The Portuguese international helped to open the scoring with a great back-heeled assist for Theo Hernández, who scored in the 2nd minute, with some help from the opposing goalkeeper.

With the game under control, it didn’t take long for Milan to extend their lead: in the 16th minute, following a corner, Pulisic found Fofana who, with a header, made it 2-0.

Pulisic himself would even write his name on the scoresheet when, in the 25th minute, he confidently converted a penalty kick. Just before halftime, Milan completed the thrashing. Again from the penalty spot, this time converted by Tammy Abraham (29′), confirming an utterly overwhelming first half for Milan.

In the second half, the rossoneri limited themselves to managing the result. To make matters worse, Caviglia saw a second yellow card in the 73rd minute, leaving Venice reduced to 10 players for the remainder of the match.
