Davide Calabria is expected to miss the Derby della Madonnina due to injury, but Milan are considering a change of system with Tammy Abraham and Alvaro Morata together against Inter.

It kicks off on Sunday at San Siro at 19.45pm UK time (18.45pm GMT).

The Rossoneri have to deal with a long list of injuries, which continues to grow after captain Calabria suffered a muscle problem during the 3-1 defeat to Liverpool in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

According to the latest rumours, the right back will not be in adequate shape to participate in the derby.

There are suggestions that coach Paulo Fonseca could transform the 4-2-3-1 into a 4-4-2 to give more solidity to the team their flawed defense.

That would mean having a double centre-forward, with Abraham paired with Morata up front, and neither of whom would likely be fit for the full 90 minutes.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek is the player who could be moved to the Milan bench, leaving Christian Pulisic and Rafael Leao more withdrawn roles.

Matteo Gabbia is also considered Strahinja Pavlovic’s replacement at the centre of defence.

Probable Milan formation

Milano (4-4-2): Maignan; Emerson Royal, Gabbia, Tomori, Theo Hernandez; Pulisic, Fofana, Reijnders, Leao; Morata, Abramo
