The government of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) appointed Second Lieutenant Cristiano Marques de Mesquita to assume a position of advisor to former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL-RJ). For the functions performed in the Armed Forces, he receives a monthly salary of R$ 16,777.60, in addition to a bonus of R$ 1,260.37 for his functions in the Presidency.

According to the law, former presidents have the prerogative to nominate names to integrate their advisory team, being these nominations for positions in commissions of the Senior Management and Advisory Group of up to level 4 or representation bonuses. In addition, there is the possibility of advice by two servers in the DAS-5 category.
