Military experts: Moscow relies on demoralization – Ukraine

The sheer power of Russia’s offensive against Ukraine surprised even the most die-hard pundits on Thursday. “I would have expected that the Russian land forces would only set foot in Ukraine after they had achieved air sovereignty,” says Gustav Gressel, an Austrian who is a Senior Policy Fellow at the European Council on Foreign Relations in Berlin. Well, it turns out that Moscow is already sending ground troops into Ukraine from Crimea and the eastern separatist areas, while fighting is still going on in the air – direction: Kiev.
