Jack Miller is very calm about where he will race in 2024. After the dispute of the last Grand Prix of Catalonia, the Italian magazine Motosprint published a news item in which they reported an alleged offer that KTM would have transferred to the Australian rider to give his seat to Pedro Acosta next year, guaranteeing the Townsville rider a substantial increase in his salary (double) in addition to participating in up to six grand prix throughout 2024 as a wildcard if Dorna finally agrees to increase the number of invited drivers per factory from three (current) to six.

At Misano, most of the questions Miller has had to answer have to do with his future. Although the Australian is not shining especially in these last races – he has not been on the podium since Jerez and is 9th overall – Jack claims to be very calm about his continuity in Red Bull KTM Factory Racing, ensuring that “they don’t bother him” this type of news because he likes to be talked about: “It’s nice that your name appears in the headlines even if you’re not,” he argues.

“I mean that’s how these things go,” try to clarify number #43. “I’m pretty happy, I’ve had a pretty busy couple of weeks so I don’t have to focus my attention on that shit. In fact, I was waiting for something to arrive in my mailbox so I could sign it.“, Miller said with a laugh, insisting that “There is no truth in that.”

Jack has been blunt, and has explained that “he knows the work he has to do at KTM” and is aware of “what they hired me for and what we are here for. And what we are here for is to take them to the next level,” clarifying once again that “There have been no conversations about this between those responsible for Pierer and me” about what will happen in 2024, something that “it’s not necessary either” dice.

Miller describes “bueno” the problem that the Austrians have in making room for Pedro Acosta, and remember that, until just a few months ago, there were few riders willing to compete in MotoGP with KTM: “It’s a good problem for KTM to have this problem now, because 12 months ago I was fighting to get on this, It’s a good problem when a manufacturer has five riders who want to ride the bike. “If you look back twelve months, they didn’t have it before.”

The 28-year-old driver just wants to ignore all this rumor mill circulating around his factory and focus on the second half of the season ahead: “I am happy and happy for the Pierer Group, which now has such a fantastic problem. But how they organize their drivers next year is not my business, it is those responsible who have to solve it. I have a contract until 2024 and I continue doing my job. It is all I can do”.

Finally, Miller has described “nuisance” the proposal launched by Carmelo Ezpeleta a couple of weeks ago in which the CEO of Dorna proposed to the MotoGP factories have an additional driver with the ability to participate in several races as a wildcard and cover the loss of those pilots who are injured throughout the season.

In this regard, Jack makes it clear that he would never accept this type of factory role because he is “a racing driver and of course I want to race in all the Grand Prix. Having some kind of reserve pilot is silly. We are not in Formula 1, where you can send any driver to FP1 to train. In our case you are in shit if you miss FP1… you have to take advantage of every lap in MotoGP to catch up“clarifies Miller with his usual sincerity.
