Miloš Zeman and his traditional holiday: He didn’t pull the boat

Presidential pensioner Miloš Zeman ended his traditional vacation in the Highlands. He had hoped to go sailing again on the yellow-blue inflatable boat, but the weather thwarted those plans. Although it has warmed up in the Czech Republic and the sun is shining, it is also windy, which was not suitable for sailing because of the waves. As reported by the ŽivotvČesku.cz server, Zeman went out for sausage and beer instead.

“There were already waves on the pond in Nové Veselí yesterday. And today was supposed to be “D” day, when the ex-president wanted to set sail. But he didn’t go on the yellow boat because of the persistent “waves”, the server ŽivotvČesku.cz quotes a person from the neighborhood of Zeman.

At the same time, the ex-president was very much looking forward to the cruise. “I hope so,” he answered before leaving for vacation whether he would take out his legendary Challenger boat.

But Zeman still enjoyed the end of his vacation. On his way back to Lán, where he lives after leaving office, he stopped at a boarding house in Rytířsk. “Here, Zeman rewarded himself with a chilled beer, sausage, mustard and excellent bread,” writes the server. Both alcohol and a diet of a similar type were prohibited by the ex-president for a long time due to health problems.

Even last year, Zeman’s trip did not work out – in June the weather in Vysočina was not favorable, and in August he finally spent his last leave in office in Lány. Zeman, however he took the boat out on the pond both in 2021 and before that in 2020.

Zeman did not give up the ride on the pond despite his health problems. “I was looking forward to it, but on the other hand, I admit that those legs aren’t the best as you can see,” Zeman, who suffers from neuropathy of the lower extremities, reported to CNN Prima News in 2021. “But I can row a boat, and you need hands to row, and they work for me so far,” he added.
