The Ministry of Tourism has issued an invitation to PRICEWATERHOUSECOOPERS (PWC) in order to submit a financial offer for the award of a contract with the object of preparing a study for the preparation of an action plan that includes the monitoring and governance mechanism as well as the cooperation procedures of the parties involved for the implementation of the infrastructure projects for sustainable tourism development of the country.

It should be noted that the analysis and evaluation by the Ministry of Tourism of the proposed interventions of the study of the Institute of the Association of Hellenic Tourism Enterprises (INSETE) “Greek Tourism 2030 – Action Plans”, resulted in the identification of 40 high priority projects in popular tourist destinations. The specific projects concern basic infrastructure, networks, transport hubs, sustainable urban mobility, circular economy, energy, supporting tourism infrastructure and port infrastructure.

For the specialization, maturation and implementation of the above projects, a mechanism is required to ensure the effective coordination between the involved bodies, to accelerate the implementation of the projects and to ensure the systematic monitoring of the progress of the work and the achievement of the results.

In this context, it is considered appropriate to draw up an action plan that includes the monitoring and governance mechanism as well as the cooperation procedures of the parties involved for the implementation of sustainable tourism development infrastructure projects.

As part of the project, the following will be implemented:

-Evaluation of the importance of the selected infrastructure projects in tourism.

-Preparation of a 3-year action plan for the implementation of the projects, with a schedule of the projects to be implemented by priority and the necessary organizational and preparation actions for their implementation.

-Development of a monitoring mechanism for the maturation of the projects and the progress of their implementation actions.

-Preparation of a proposal for the governance mechanism with the formation of proposed roles of the parties involved.

The total duration of the project implementation is set at 3 months from the date of signing the contract. The total estimated cost amounts to 37,200 euros including VAT.
