jpnn.comJAKARTA ⁢- The upcoming 2024 Pilkada is approaching, as outlined in ⁢KPU‌ Regulation Number 2 ⁣of 2024 concerning the Stages and Schedule ‌for the Election of Governor and‍ Deputy ⁣Governor, Regent and Deputy Regent,⁣ and Mayor and Deputy Mayor in 2024.

The ⁣election, including the ‍North⁤ Sulawesi Gubernatorial Election ⁤(Pilgub Sulut), is scheduled for November 27, 2024. Potential regional head candidates⁣ are starting to ⁤emerge, with the former ⁢Talaud⁤ Islands Regent⁣ Elly E⁤ Lasut ⁤running for Governor of North Sulawesi.

In a written statement‌ on Wednesday‍ (7/8/2024), Cakrawala Massie highlighted the emergence of Elly E Lasut as a candidate⁤ for governor of North Sulawesi for the 2004-2029 period.

According to Cakra, Elly E ‍Lasut was⁣ previously⁣ implicated in a ⁢corruption case, with prosecutors requesting a 9-year prison sentence in 2009 for alleged corruption related to official travel ‍orders during his ‌time as⁤ Regent of⁢ the Talaud Islands.

Cakra believes that Elly E Lasut is⁣ not suitable⁢ to‍ run for ⁢governor due to his past involvement in corruption.

“She was previously involved in a corruption case. Political parties should‍ not⁣ endorse or nominate her as a⁣ gubernatorial⁤ candidate with ⁢a history‌ of corruption,” Cakrawala Massie stated, who is also a businessman.

He expressed concerns about Elly‍ E ‍Lasut’s potential return to⁤ the gubernatorial candidate field, citing his corruption case history.
