Bangalore: Santosh Patil (40) is a contractor from Belgaum, Karnataka. He has the State Rural Development Department Minister Eeswarappa Accused of asking 40 percent commission. Conflict erupted between the two as Eeswarappa sued him. In this situation Santosh Patil committed suicide on the 12th.

Following this, Santosh Patil’s family and the opposition, including the Congress, jumped into the fray against Eeswarappa. Udupi police have registered a case against Minister Eeswarappa, his aides Ramesh and Basavaraj for inciting Santosh Patil to commit suicide. Congress legislator Chidramaiah, state president DK Sivakumar and others met Governor Thavarchand Kelad and petitioned him to remove Eeswarappa from office.

Opposition to Eeswarappa also arose within the BJP. Senior BJP leaders have reportedly appealed to the BJP to discredit him.

In this context, Eeswarappa said yesterday, “I swear on Chamundeswari. I have nothing to do with Santosh Patil. But the Congress is causing unnecessary confusion. I will soon prove that there is nothing wrong with me in this matter. I am going to deliver the letter. “

Chief Minister Basavaraj Puppet said, “Santosh Patil’s body has been handed over to his family after the autopsy. A formal inquiry will be held into the case without any interference.”
