The Minister of Defense, René Merino Monroy, explained that they have managed to locate four people in a security fence in San Marcos, San Salvador Sur, among them are individuals with direct links to gangs such as a homeboy, a lady who collaborates with the October structure Litlle Sayco that is located in said area and others related to the sale and distribution of drugs.
“The presence of them (gang members) could mean organization or strengthening, not only in that place, but in surrounding areas,” said the official.
The head of Defense assured that they already know the behavior in the fences and are prepared to act in case they try to settle again. Furthermore, citizen complaints have been key to confirming the veracity of this information.
Merino Monroy reiterated that the National Civil Police (PNC) and the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) monitor the movements of these groups.
