Minister of Communications Hiyam Al-Yasiri stressed, today, Wednesday, the importance of Iraq’s safe path to transfer international capacity traffic through transit projects.
The ministry stated in a statement received by the (INA), that “Minister of Communications Hiyam Al-Yasiri met today, Wednesday, with a delegation from the senior management of the Bahraini company Batelco, as part of its continuous efforts with the private sector to enhance joint cooperation with solid international and Arab companies specialized in the communications and information technology sector.”
She added, “During the meeting, Al-Yasiri listened to the proposals of the Bahraini delegation to Batelco, a company specialized in communications and submarine cables, regarding opening up prospects for work with Iraqi companies and entering into strategic partnerships with Iraq to invest in its geographical location to pass international communications capacities through it, reaching Europe.”
Al-Yasiri stressed, according to the statement, “the importance of Iraq’s safe path to transfer international capacity traffic through transit projects, which makes it a successful competitor to other corridors in the region.”
