Education Minister Óscar Becerra warned that teachers who comply with the strike called by the National Federation of Education Workers of Peru (Fenatep) will be fired on the third day.

From Piura, the head of the ministry referred to these teachers as “unruly and harassers” and pointed out that if they comply with the strike, they will be replaced by “real teachers.”

As is known, the union founded by the former president, Pedro Castillo, called to comply with a general strike throughout the country from March 2 and in a meeting, they agreed to promote the strike throughout the regions.

However, Becerra ruled out that said strike will affect the return to classes, noting that the Unitary Union of Education Workers of Peru (Sutep), which represents the majority of teachers, assured that it will not join the strike.
