To the deputies, Marinho denied returning the charge. “There is no proposal for a union tax to return, at least from the Ministry of Labor and President Lula’s government. It is important to remember that, when we talk about a strong union, we are talking about creating a welcoming environment for negotiation, where the union is strong to negotiate”, explained the minister. Marinho cited data that points to a 98% drop in union contribution collection since the changes in the labor reform. The minister said that the government intends to send a bill to organize labor relations.
