jpnn.comMALANG – The Ministry of Manpower (Kemenaker) is again holding a Socialization of the Minister of Manpower Regulation Number 4 of 2023 concerning Social Security for Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI).

In the socialization, Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziah invited all prospective PMI workers to ensure that they have received protection from the government through BPJS Employment.

Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah said that as a form of appreciation for Indonesian migrant workers who are often called the country’s foreign exchange heroes, the state provides appreciation and a strong commitment to ensuring the fulfillment of PMI rights in social security, both when PMI before leaving, during, and even after returning to their homeland.

“Together with BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, the Ministry of Manpower is making optimal efforts to increase social security participation for prospective Indonesian migrant workers and Indonesian migrant workers, especially in Malang Regency,” said Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah.

It is known that East Java is the largest province in contributing to the placement of Indonesian migrant workers.

Malang Regency itself is ranked 7th as the regency/city with the most placements in all of Indonesia.

“Malang Regency is the seventh largest contributor of regencies/cities with the placement of migrant workers abroad of 6,489 people. As many as 13 percent of the number of PMI placements in East Java come from Malang Regency,” he said.

Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah emphasized that it is very important to be present in person to ensure protection for Indonesian migrant workers and prospective PMI.
