Minister of Transport launches urgent plan to transport pilgrims on the latest Iraqi Airways aircraft

Minister of Transport Razzaq Muhaibis Al-Saadawi announced today, Thursday, the launch of an urgent plan to transport pilgrims from Baghdad International Airport to the Holy Land and vice versa.

The Minister of Transport said in a statement received by the (INA): “A special operations room has been formed for the process of dispatching visitors, under our supervision and follow-up.”
He stressed that “the Iraqi Airways Company has begun implementing its flights to transport and dispatch pilgrims from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Iraq,” noting that “the transportation mechanism is implemented at a rate of four flights per day.”
He explained that “modern Dreamliner aircraft, as well as Boeing 737 and Triple Seven aircraft, were allocated in this plan,” noting that “2,000 passengers were transported by air during the last three days, at a rate of 600-800 passengers per day as a maximum.”
He stressed that “the process of sending pilgrims from the Holy Land to Iraq will end on September 24th,” indicating that “Iraqi Airways continues to provide services to honorable travelers, and that it is committed to its flight timings within specific schedules.”
