Ministry⁣ Still Discussing Bonuses for ‍Paris Olympics Athletes

The Ministry​ of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) announced that‌ bonuses for ⁤athletes at the ‍2024 Paris Olympics are still under discussion.

The amount ​of these bonuses, whether athletes win⁤ medals or not, is yet to be⁣ finalized.

“The Olympic medal bonus is still being ⁣communicated by the Minister of Youth⁢ and Sports to⁢ President Joko Widodo. The figures circulating ‌in the community are still​ just assumptions referring ⁢to the amount of the Tokyo Olympics bonus,” said Ardima Rama Putra, Special⁣ Staff of the Minister of Youth and Sports for Improving Achievement​ and Developing the ⁣Sports ‍Industry.

It is known that gold⁢ medal winners at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics received IDR 5.5 billion, while ⁢silver medal winners ⁤received‌ Rp2.5 billion and bronze medal ⁢winners received Rp1.5‍ billion. Athletes who did not win a medal received Rp100 million.

Regarding⁢ the amount for the 2024 Paris Olympics, the government is still discussing the matter.

“The exact amount is ​still waiting⁣ for the president’s direction, ⁢because the ⁢policy ⁤is⁣ in the hands of the‍ president,” Putra said.

The ‍Ministry ⁢is prepared ⁣to handle all necessary administrative procedures and other requirements to ensure the smooth disbursement of bonuses.
