Diaspora and Social Equality Minister Amichai Shikli today (Monday) led a discussion in the Knesset that dealt with the findings of the 2022 annual anti-Semitism report.

Most of the anti-Semitic discourse on the networks, 68% according to the comprehensive study carried out by the Diaspora Ministry, originates in “Palestinian” or pro-progressive circles.” Palestinians”.
And in the face of a relative decrease in the manifestations of anti-Semitism in the world, there is a noticeable jump in the number of anti-Semitic incidents specifically in the USA where a hostile atmosphere is emerging on some campuses towards Jewish students, especially if they identify as Zionists.
The State of Israel has the duty to lead the fight against anti-Semitism and to work to expand the adoption of the IHRA definitions, which became the standard for defining anti-Semitism, including the new anti-Semitism that denies the Jews’ right to self-determination, in as many countries and institutions around the world as possible.”
Minister Shikli reviewed the main trends and referred to the trend of the new anti-Semitism which is the delegitimization of Israel.
The anti-Semitism report of the Diaspora Ministry shows that there is a disturbing increase in the rise of anti-Semitic discourse on the Internet and there is a continuous increase in the use of anti-Semitic discourse on the Internet directed against the State of Israel, both in the number of anti-Semitic posts and in the number of surfers spreading anti-Semitic content.
Knesset members Amit Halevi, Ariel Kellner, Eliyahu Dellal, Boaz Bismut, representatives of civil society organizations, researchers and other experts participated in the discussion that lasted about two and a half hours.
