The minister made these considerations during the laying of the first stone for the construction of 200 houses to house families living around Sociedade Mineira do Luele.

He highlighted that mining companies, in addition to paying taxes and fees, must also look at the surrounding communities and, within their social responsibilities, work together, mainly to help the localities.

He made it known that the ministry built the Saurimo Diamond Development Pole, where it has all the conditions for installing diamond cutting factories, as diamonds must have added value and be close to the communities where they are produced.

He said that, in addition to the factories installed at the complex, it also has two schools that train young people in the area of ​​diamond cutting and professionals in the mining sector.

As for family farming, Diamantino de Azevedo said that, with the instruments delivered, it is expected to create a cooperative capable of producing food to support the community, as well as selling the remainder in large markets, in order to become self-sufficient. sustainable.

He asked Sociedade Mineira do Luele to continue to support this initiative and help the cooperative technically, so that the community can understand all productive activity.

For the minister, the community must continue to monitor the process of implementing social projects and make good use of everything that will be built.
