The Minister of Economic and Social Inclusion, Zaida Rovira, visited the Balzar canton in the province of Guayas. In this sector, she shared moments of joy with the citizens, spoke with authorities, leaders of neighborhoods, communities and social organizations, and accompanied users of bonuses and pensions to register their savings or basic account, as part of the Payment in Account program.

The agenda began with an event attended by around 300 people, whom the minister thanked for the welcome and reported on the actions that the MIES has carried out under her charge, both in the province and at a national level. The mayor, Galo Meza, also participated in this dialogue, who gave her the keys to the city as an illustrious guest. “I am grateful for this display of affection from the community of this beautiful corner of the country. These meetings reinforce the commitment of the National Government to make decisions for the benefit and progress of the citizens, especially those who belong to vulnerable and priority sectors,” said the highest authority of this State portfolio.

Later, he visited the Gerontological Center of the town, where he delivered 50 clothing kits, 19 canes and three wheelchairs to the elderly people who benefit from this service. “We will continue working. We are a government that solves problems and whose main priority is to cover their needs and continue to provide them with a quality service,” he said.

It should be noted that in the El Empalme district, to which the Balzar canton belongs, the MIES serves 2,775 people from priority care groups, with social and economic inclusion programs and services.
