Ministries of the Government of National Unity, in addition to the relevant agencies and centers, announced their high readiness to confront any upcoming weather conditions or climate fluctuations and to provide the necessary capabilities in this regard.
This came during a meeting held last Friday evening at the Cabinet Office, which included the Ministries of Health, Interior, Local Government, Water Resources, Support and Emergency Medicine, Ambulance and Emergency Departments, Agricultural Police, Municipal Guard, Water and Sanitation Companies, Public Services, in addition to the National Safety Authority and the National Center for Meteorology.
The meeting discussed organizing efforts to confront floods, valley flows, and various emergencies.
At the beginning of the meeting, the National Center of Meteorology presented a light show showing the weather conditions in the country during the first half of September and the movement of floods and valleys.
The Dams Department of the Ministry of Water Resources also presented the status of 17 dams in the country, confirming that the water level in them is still at the lowest level.
The attendees agreed that the National Center for Meteorology would submit a weekly report on the country’s weather conditions to the Ministry of Local Government and the Ministry of Interior, which in turn would call on the Emergency Response Room and relevant municipalities to organize the role of agencies and institutions and unify efforts to ensure the success of the work and protect citizens and property.
According to the government media office, the committee’s work comes within the government’s plan to confront natural disasters, according to reports from the National Center of Meteorology until the end of this year.
