Ministry is making huge efforts to attract investors in the film sector (Mr. Bensaid)

Rabat – The Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, affirmed, Tuesday in the House of Advisors, that his department is deploying enormous efforts to attract investors in the cinematographic field.

In response to an oral question on the “development of the cinematographic sector” of the Authenticité et Modernité group, Mr. Bensaid stressed that these efforts have resulted in the signing of investment agreements for 25 new cinema complexes in large and medium-sized cities, noting that these investments reflect confidence in the future of the Moroccan cinematographic sector.

The minister noted that the film sector is based on two major points, namely the strengthening of the cinematographic offer as a public service and the consolidation of the film industry.

In this regard, he indicated that the ministry has launched, in partnership with the communication and culture sectors, an initiative aimed at equipping cultural centres in order to expand the cinematographic offer at the national level, particularly in medium and small towns and areas lacking cinematographic complexes or investments.

This initiative aims, according to Mr. Bensaid, to consolidate the cinematographic culture in particular through the signing of agreements with cinema clubs, making it known that cinematographic works are screened in cultural complexes with symbolic prices, which makes it possible to offer more opportunities to Moroccan film directors and producers.
