jpnn.comLOMBOK – The Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo) encourages public institutions in the regions to guarantee citizens’ rights to obtain Public Information.
This is done to facilitate local government institutions, the Directorate General of Public Information and Communication of the Ministry of Communication and Information provides the info.go.id application.
“The info.go.id application is designed to facilitate access to information for the public, as well as a tool for the government to demonstrate its commitment to openness and accountability,” said the Director of Governance and Public Communication Partnerships, Directorate General of IKP, Ministry of Communication and Information, Hasyim Gautama, in the Technical Guidance for the Use of info.go.id in Public Information Services in Senggigi, West Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, Wednesday (31/7).
“This public information service application has the main objective of providing easy and fast access to the public to the information they need,” he added.
Hasyim stated that the development of this system is an effort to make it easier for the public to access public information in all state public bodies.
According to him, so far each state public body has developed a separate information system.
“Although the development of this information system has good intentions, on the other hand it indicates that there is ineffective use of the budget which will be difficult. The public will have to register repeatedly if they request information from different public bodies,” he said.
The development of information and documentation systems to manage public information properly and efficiently so that it can be easily accessed is a mandate of Article 7 of Law Number 14 of 2008 concerning Openness of Public Information.
The Ministry of Communication and Information continues to strive to facilitate technology, one of which is through the general application for public information services info.go.id.
