The Ministry of Culture has just revealed the names of the twenty labels that won the 2024 edition of its “Call for Fashion and Fashion Artistic Professions” project. Among the lucky ones, we see especially the fanatic label of him soft tailoring Valette Studio Style led by Pierre-François Valette, stylist Jeanne Froot’s eco-friendly and gender-neutral fashion label, and Parisian leather bag brand Domestique.

With the initiation of this system in 2018, the ministry reaffirms its commitment to young creators and so-called legacy businesses with financial support and strategic mentoring. Last year, young stylist Benjamin Benmoyal and the brands Paloma Casile, Tomo Clothing and 10.03.53 were rewarded.

For this 7th edition, a total coverage of 400,000 euros was distributed as subsidies to the winners at a rate of 20,000 euros each.

Supporting young brands and emerging designers

Among the first requests received, on the fashion side, in addition to the Valette Studio and Jeanne Frio brands, the Alsatian Victor Weinsanto label was chosen, the geeky and upcycled Alphonse Maitrepierre label, the Marseille Azur brand, the Corsican Tafanelli and his message shirts, the technical brand Nosc, a fan of bio-sourced materials, and the Parisian designer Steven Passaro, known for his architectural ready-to-wear collections.

In the textile category Atelier Vorace was distinguished, a fabric printing workshop launched by Benoit Coulpier in 2016 and located on the hill of Croix-Rousse in Lyon, as well as the creative studio Cécile Gray, founded by Cécile Gayraud, who has specialized for five years. in weaving metallic threads for jewelery and was the winner of the 33rd edition of the Hyères Fashion, Photography and Accessories Festival.

On the accessories side, the brandEyewear Baars – which manufactures its pairs of glasses and sunglasses in its factory in Oyonnax (Ain) – as well as the Vaincourt label and its creative belts Made in France was chosen. In leather goods, stand out the conceptual design bag brand Domestique (led by the Bastien Beny and Simon Delacour tandem) and the BtoB brand La Reverdie, which makes small leather goods and decorative leather items for women in Erstein in Alsace.

The upcycled unisex jewelry brand Anicet launched by the designer Elias Pradel, precious jewelry designer Marie Cabirou directing Marie Mas or the Maison Alix Dumas (or MAD) created by the designer of the same name was chosen for their innovative approach to jewelry and contemporary high jewelry.

Finally, in the shoes category, there are also three winners: Meeko and its eco-responsible sneakers in tear-resistant canvas, Phileo – led by Philéo Landowski – and its collection of studded ballerinas made from apple waste as well as the Parisian brand Philippe. Zorzetto with leather moccasins and sandals made in tanneries in the French Pyrenees and the Italian Marches.
