According to the forecasts of the Ministry of Energy, gas production in Russia will grow by 12% in 2021 – up to 777 billion cubic meters. m, TASS reports with reference to the Minister of Energy Nikolai Shulginov. The growth of oil and gas condensate production this year may reach 0.8% – up to 517 million tons.

“In 2021, despite the waves of coronavirus, there is a recovery in both the global economy and the domestic economy. This can be seen in the growth of production indicators in the fuel and energy complex. At the end of the year, an increase in oil and gas condensate production is forecast by 0.8% compared to last year, up to 517 million tons. Gas production – 777 billion cubic meters m, this is 12% higher [уровня] last year and above the pre-pandemic year 2019, ”Shulginov said during the government hour at the Federation Council.

Coal production growth in 2021 is expected to be 8% compared to 2020. Coal exports will grow due to supplies to Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. In turn, electricity generation will increase by 5.6% – up to 1.123 trillion kWh, stressed the head of the Ministry of Energy.

On October 13, the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) lowered its forecast for global oil demand in 2021. It will grow by 5.82 million barrels per day (the previous version was 5.96 million barrels). The figure was adjusted primarily based on data from the first nine months of the current year. At the same time, expectations for 2022 remained the same: demand growth is expected at 4.2 million barrels per day.
