The Ministry of Interior announced today, Wednesday, the success of the security plan for the visit of the tenth of Muharram, the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).
The Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Supreme Security Committee for Securing the Tenth of Muharram Pilgrimage, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, stated in a statement received by the (INA), that “after relying on God and over the course of consecutive days, the security services and other supporting agencies have devoted their efforts and capabilities to securing the Tenth of Muharram Pilgrimage, the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), and the plan drawn up for this immortal occasion proceeded according to what was planned and was distinguished by a major role for the security services, including a high-level intelligence effort, with monitoring of the sectors with cameras around the clock.”
Al-Shammari added, “Thanks to the tremendous efforts made by all the security forces assigned to this duty, we announce the success of the plan prepared to provide protection for the fixed and mobile Husseini bodies and processions, commemorating the martyrdom of the grandson of the Prophet.”
He added, “We ask God Almighty to accept this condolence and sympathy from the faithful crowds. We also extend our thanks and appreciation to the security forces implementing the plan, to the two holy shrines, to the citizens, to the owners of the processions, and to the visitors for their cooperation with the security forces and their commitment to the instructions and commandments related to the visit, in addition to all the supporting ministries and departments, media institutions, and satellite channels.”
