José Ruales, Minister of Public Health, in the Health Sector Cabinet # 20 held in Quito, announced that between February and April of this year a total of 3,288 professionals were linked to the Ministry of Public Health (MSP) to strengthen care services for Nacional level.
In the month of February, 425 professionals were hired, in March a total of 1,573 and so far in April 1,290 have entered, which will cover nursing services, general and specialty medicine, dentistry, nutrition, psychology, epidemiology, social work , occupational, chemical and biochemical therapy, among others, in addition to administrative personnel in establishments in the 24 provinces of the country.
Of the 3,288 linked professionals, 1,364 belong to health centers, 1,597 to hospitals, 149 have intercultural knowledge and; 178 will support the mental health project. This year, the hiring of 11,354 health workers is planned until December 2023.
Likewise, this State portfolio manages scholarships for training in specialties for health professionals, after four years without the approval of new scholarships. In 2023, USD 10.6 million will be available to finance 5,500 scholarships to train Primary Health Care Technicians (TAPS), Family and Community Physicians (MFC); Clinical-Surgical and Nursing specialties.
These actions will guarantee the right to health of the population and strengthen services in all establishments in the country.
