Ministry of Transport announces the opening of a new direct air route between Baghdad and Sharjah

The Ministry of Transport announced, today, Sunday, the opening of a new direct air route between Baghdad and Sharjah.

A statement by the Ministry of Transport received by the (INA) stated that “in line with the directives of the Minister of Transport, Razzaq Muhaibis Al-Saadawi, the Iraqi Airways Administration has set the date for opening a new direct line between Baghdad and Sharjah, starting from October 17, with four flights per week to enhance communication between Iraq and the United Arab Emirates and provide direct flights for travelers between the two countries.”
The statement added, “The opening of the new (Baghdad-Sharjah) line comes within the operational plan of Iraqi Airways, which aims to develop the civil aviation sector and expand the network of international flights for the green bird in line with government directives, due to the importance of this in strengthening trade and tourism relations between Iraq and the countries of the region and the world and providing more travel options for travelers.”
The statement added that “the ministry’s efforts are continuing to work on improving air transport services and developing the infrastructure of Iraqi airports in line with international standards,” noting “the continued efforts to develop all levels of performance and services provided by Iraqi Airways to passengers on board its air fleet and to improve the travel experience on an ongoing basis.”
