Today, Monday, the Ministry of Youth and Sports held a workshop to prevent exploitation and drugs at talent centers in Baghdad.

A statement by the ministry received by the (INA) stated that “under the patronage of the Minister of Youth and Sports, Ahmed Al-Mubarqa, the Department of Studies and Development of Youth Personnel and Leadership – Training and Rehabilitation Center held a training workshop entitled (Psychological and Social Support to Prevent Exploitation, Drugs and Addiction in All Its Names) for activity officials in talent centers in Baghdad.”
The statement added, “The workshop will continue until the 18th of September, in the Studies Department Hall in the Scientific Care Building, where the head of the Guides Training Division, Taqwa Asaad, lectured, and was managed by the Director of the Training and Rehabilitation Department, Majed Al-Shammari, who confirmed that “the workshop aims to enhance and raise the capabilities of supervisors of youth and sports activities.”
The statement continued, saying that the lecture dealt with defining exploitation as the exploitation of a person or group for personal material or psychological purposes, while drugs are one of the most widespread and dangerous challenges, and lead to serious changes in perception and behavior, and that repeated use leads to addiction, which is a pathological condition. In this context, the importance of psychological support comes as a basic element of prevention and early intervention in cases of exploitation and addiction.
The statement concluded, “The risks and their psychological and social effects, and psychological support and prevention are represented by educating individuals about the risks of addiction and exploitation, and there is a set of communication and psychological support skills, and finally I touched on problem-solving skills.”
