‘Minnal Murali’ starring Tovino Thomas is one of the most awaited movies among the upcoming movie releases in Malayalam. After ‘Goda’, the movie directed by Basil Joseph and starring Tovino is coming with the tag of being the first superhero movie in Malayalam. The release is announced as a Christmas release via Netflix as a direct OTT release. But the latest update on Minnal Murali is that the film will have its world premiere before its Netflix release. The film will premiere at the Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival.
Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra has announced the premiere of the Minnal Murali Festival. Festival officials have released a video of Priyanka conversing with Tovino Thomas and Basil Joseph via video. Festival Artistic Director Soumriti Kiran also participated in the discussion. In the video, Priyanka says that she saw the film and liked it very much. They also ask Basil and Tovino about the Malayalam cinema of the time and the possibility of getting into a superhero film. Although the background is a village in Kerala, Basil Joseph said that he hopes the film will interact with audiences all over the world. Tovino and Basil thanked Netflix for selecting the film to present to moviegoers around the world.
Tovino plays a young tailor named Murali. Murali, who was once struck by lightning, is getting some miraculous powers. The film progresses through the unpredictability it creates in the lives of him and the natives. The film is produced by Sofia Paul under the banner of Weekend Blockbusters. Guru Somasundaram, Aju Varghese, Baiju, Harishree Ashokan and Femina George play the other important roles. Screenplay by Arun Anirudhan and Justin Mathew.
