The Israeli parliament approved the reform of the country’s Supreme Court in the first vote. The project allows the government to reverse the decisions of the judiciary. On the other hand, it makes it difficult for the country’s main court to annul government measures. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says reform is needed to balance the powers in Israel, but thousands of protesters have been protesting for 10 weeks against what they call a threat to Israeli democracy.
